All members must agree to UPHOLD the following terms and conditions WHEN they join our community:

Memberships: The Makers Place™ offers many flexible membership options at various price points based on the specific services each Members desires and requires. At the time of application, each members selects a specific membership package (Coworking-only, Community, or Co-Operative) and is enrolled in this plan as an ongoing commitment based on the start date and billing plan selected by the Member that relates to contract length.

  • Coworking Members paying monthly may modify (upgrade, downgrade, hold or cancel) their membership type if they notify us via email (Hello@MakesPlaceSac.com) at least 14 days before their next billing cycle (generally the 15th day of the month). If a Coworking Member provides less than 14 days notice, they may be subject to paying the following month at the higher contracted rate.

  • For Community Members we offer the option of 4-40 hours per week of onsite childcare. Community members confirm a specific number of onsite childcare hours per week and are locked into this plan through the end of each quarter (Q1: January-February-March, Q2: April-May-June, Q3: July-August-September, Q4: October-November-December). They are welcome at add on additional childcare hours at the rate of $15/hour per enrolled child as long as space is available, but cannot reduce the number of weekly hours within that quarter; they also are not able to roll over or receive a refund for any unused hours weekly. Community Members that join in the middle of a quarter will receive a pro-rated invoice based on their start date and will be contracted through the end of that quarter. All Community Members will be invoiced monthly unless they opt for a pre-paid discounted rate. Community Members may modify (increase/decrease weekly childcare hours, hold or cancel) their membership type by notifying us via email (Hello@MakesPlaceSac.com) at least 30 days before their next billing cycle in the final month of the quarter (Q1: March 1, Q2: June 1, Q3: Sept 1, Q4: Dec 1).

  • Co-Operative Members must apply, interview, be selected, and commit to a six-month contract period that includes dedicated weekly caregiving shifts in trade for a discounted membership and weekly childcare hours equivalent to the caregiving hours worked that week; a one-month "Co-Op Trial Membership" may also be an option. If a Community or Co-Member in their final contracted month provides less than 30 days notice, they may be subject to paying the following quarter at the higher contracted rate.

Onsite Childcare: Currently, childcare is only offered to Community and Co-Op Members for enrolled children ages 3 months to 2 years for up to 40 hours per week on weekdays from 9:00am-5:00pm unless our space is scheduled to be closed.  Members must remain onsite while children are enrolled in childcare. We book childcare hours in 60-minute sessions starting on the hour, and a maximum of 8 sessions (total of 8 hours) can be booked per child per day based on availability to ensure we have appropriate caregiver-to-child ratios. Members may enroll additional siblings (ages 3 months to 2 years) on to their Community or Co-Op Membership at 15% off the listed monthly price when concurrently enrolled for the same number of hours per week OR at the discounted rate of $15/hour for flexible care with no monthly commitment.

Childcare Cancellations: Rebooking the same week may be available in instances of illness or emergency if space is available. Other instances of cancellation will be considered on a case-by-case basis for rebooking purposes and are not guaranteed. We do not offer roll-over childcare hours and there are no refunds offered for unused childcare or coworking time.

Closures: We reserve the right to close on specific national and religious holidays. You can view our current Holiday Calendar online. We do not offer make-up days for member vacations and sick days, or closure due to scheduled holidays or unplanned school closure (including health and safety quarantine periods or forced government closure, or inclement weather).

Billing: All Membership Packages are billed monthly on the 24th of the month and are due on or before the 1st of the month or at least 24-hours before you begin membership if starting mid-month. The Makers Place™ offers discounted membership rates when you pre-pay the total contract amount in advance at the time of enrollment for longer-term contracts (3-months, 6-months, and 12-months). Holds + Early Termination Fees: We cannot hold space in our childcare program without prepayment. The early termination fee for pre-paid longer-term contracts of any Membership Type is equal to two month’s charge or half the remaining balance, whichever is less. 

Guests: Non-members can purchase coworking-only guest passes for $25/day. Childcare is not available to non-members.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO UPDATE THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AT ANY TIME AND WILL NOTIFY ALL CURRENT MEMBERS OF ANY CHANGES
