Our Mini Makers™ Studio is under the direction and supervision of a professional team of Educators, Behavioral Psychologists, Professional Coaches, student interns, and parents. Together, they aim to expose your children to a variety of educational and artistic experiences while they learn and play together!

Leadership Team


Leslie Bosserman, M.Ed., CPCC, graduated from UCLA with degrees in Communications, Education, and Applied Developmental Psychology. She also is a trained as a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach and has experience working in Higher Education in student leadership development. Leslie is the Co-Founder of The Makers Place™ where she currently serves as the Community Manager and Director of the Mini Makers™ Preschool. She also works as a Leadership Coach and Lifestyle Strategist at her boutique practice, Lead With Intention®.


Joel Bosserman, M.A., BCBA, is a Behavior Analyst with a decade of experience working with children and families that have a range of developmental and behavioral issues. He currently runs an early intervention preschool program for children with Autism in the Woodland Joint Unified School District. Along with his wife Leslie, Joel is the Co-Founder of The Makers Place™ and also does Behavioral Assessments, Parent Training, and in-home work for children and families through his corporation, Entropy Behavior Services, Inc.

The Bossermans are based in East Sacramento where they live with their two young boys. When they are not playing at McKinley Park or hosting epic dinner parties, they enjoy traveling the globe, dancing (and singing) to all kinds of music, and reading as a family.


Taylor Olin serves as one of our Childcare Coordinators in our Mini Makers™ Studio. She is Mom to Harper Ray – a spitfire of a 2-year-old, wife to Ryan – a persistent and patient man with a powerful mind, and lover of all things coffee and Jesus. When Taylor’s not being her own boss with Mary Kay Cosmetics, she can usually be found running around outside with Harper and her two dogs, taking way too many pictures, and volunteering at her church campus as the Nursery Director. Taylor has a background in Medical Assisting and Early Child Development and is able to fully embody her passion for letting every child know they’re loved in our childcare program!


Christina Law, B.A., RBT, serves as one of our Childcare Coordinators in our Mini Makers™ Studio and as our onsite Behavior Consultant. Growing up in Sacramento, Christina studied Psychology at CSULA and has been a Registered Behavior Technician for over three years. She loves working with kids and families and helping improving dynamics! When she’s not working, Christina enjoys spending quality time with her family and experimenting with yummy recipes!


Sophia Stults, B.A., is our Lead Teacher in our in our Mini Makers™ Preschool and also works onsite daily in our onsite childcare program to add continuity and strength to our program. Sophia a passion for teaching and has a long history in early childhood education. Graduating from Mills College where she studied Child Development, Sophia has worked in a variety of preschool programs over the past few years from Oakland to Sacramento where she developed a passion for teaching young children. When not in the classroom, Sophia enjoys spending time with family, going to local cafes and eating good food!

Co-Operative Caregivers

Carolyn Wooddall wears many hats as a wife and mom to her adventurous daughter and three scruffy dogs, and can often be found wearing fun hats while coworking! As a freelance writer and travel blogger with her business, Carefree Communications, she helps small businesses with their marketing needs. Carolyn’s background with kids spans more than 15 years of time spent as a camp counselor, Sunday school teacher, lifeguard, swim instructor, student aid to Kindergarten and First grade classrooms, and tutor. She loves to travel and spend time outside running, hiking, camping, and exploring…and she is currently working on writing and publishing children’s books!

Nailah Pope-Harden runs a public outreach practice specializing in helping underserved communities advocate for themselves. She is always open to a chat about what’s going on around town. In the Mini Makers™ Studio, you will find Nai playing with her son Naeem and all the other lovely littles! When not at The Makers Place™, she is likely watching the Great British Bakeoff!

Natasha Scott is a Mompreneur with a passion for fashion! When she is not working as a caregiver, she is designing custom suits for Men and Women (@ScottSuit) along with parenting her young, spirited daughter Sloane - mama’s mini-boss and business partner! Natasha loves to stay active in the outdoors and go on scenic hikes and walking her Border Collie, Lenny. She is so excited to be a part of The Makers Place™ community and is looking forward to making new connections!

Renee Peters is a lifestyle blogger and Jill of all trades with a passion for lending a hand wherever is needed. As the oldest of eight, Renee acquired patience in abundance which serves her well as a mom of two and as a caregiver in the Mini Makers™ Studio. She’s never without coffee and is a bit of a history buff. And Renee is always ready to hear your story and share hers!

Susan Yee Kearns is a wedding and lifestyle photographer with a passion for creating storytelling imagery and capturing the essence of people. As a huge personality type, psychology, and human development junkie, she loves to dig into understanding people and the things that influence us along the way. Susan applies this knowledge when photographing clients and caring for children. When she’s not working with people, she loves to dance, do yoga, have creative projects (when she can with a one year old!) and go on outdoor adventures like picnics, hikes or camping with her family.


Amya Flores is one of our Thousand Strong interns through the Mayor’s Office. She has a wonderful time playing with children and looking out for them! Working with children at The Makers Place™ brings her joy and happiness. When she’s working as a caregiver, you can find her spending as much time as she can with her little brother and taking him out to explore Sacramento and enjoying long walks with her dog, Buddy. 

Hannah Whittington is one of our  student interns with the Thousand Strong program through the Mayor's Office. She currently goes to SAVA (Sacramento Academic Vocational Academy) working hard through her final year of high school, taking classes like Culinary, Photography, and Construction. Hannah is an artistic spirit who loves music and finding peace and unity among people. She's ecstatic to work with the children in the Mini Makers™ Studio and working alongside the lovely people of The Makers Place™.

Isabella Vocal is currently in her final year studying Child Development at California State University, Sacramento. Isabella has always known she wanted to work with children. She has worked as a Teacher’s Aide at James Marshall Elementary School and has also provided tutoring services for middle and high school foster youth. When she’s not caring for little ones or studying, you can usually find Isabella working out at the gym. Isabella is ready to make new memories here at The Makers Place™!

Karen Zhang studied Human Development at UC Davis and plans to become a pediatric nurse in the future. Karen has a multicultural background and moved with her family from China at age eleven. She is fluent in both Mandarine and Cantonese and loves learning about different cultures. Karen enjoys spending quality time with family and friends with a cup of coffee and talking about the bright future! She is excited to be expanding her experience working with young children in the Mini Makers™ Studio.

Miah Hood was born and raised in Sacramento and has a long history working with children and serving as a caregiver. She was selected to be part of the Mayor’s Thousand Strong Program to help improve our Sacramento community. Miah is passionate about helping others make positive lifestyle changes and wants to be an entrepreneur one day! She also enjoys journaling, listening to music, and cleaning. In addition to working in our onsite childcare program, Miah is our Teacher’s Aide on Tuesdays and Thursdays in our Mini Makers™ Preschool.

Romajanae Hill is currently attending William Daylor High School and is part of the be part of the Mayor’s Thousand Strong Program. She plans to graduate early and conitnue her education to become an OBGYN Ultrasound Tech. Romajanae loves hanging with her nephews and nieces on her free time and is excited to be working with even more children in our Mini Makers™ Studio.
