Embodying Presence

Embodying Presence

How you SHOW UP matters.

It’s all too easy to present a persona that looks fine on the outside, but is craving something more on the inside.

This month, many people will be dressing up, putting on masks, and pretending to be someone else. But are you doing that in your typical life – hiding what you really, truly want and just making it work, even when it’s not?

You were made for more, my friend.

Life is a Celebration

Life is a Celebration

I believe that there are special moments in life that are meant to be honored and celebrated, yet we often feel like we need to accomplish something BIG to be worthy of acknowledgment. As we near the end of summer, what are you proud to have done, started, or changed in your life?

Becoming a Life Explorer

Becoming a Life Explorer

This summer, instead of experiencing travel FOMO and thinking of all the places you’re not, let’s embrace our reality and explore where we are right now. Sometimes, we simply need to create more space to explore where we already are instead of going somewhere new. This is the true test of exploration – to be where you are and still find the adventure!

Spark Your Curiosity

Spark Your Curiosity

There is so much in our world that is novel, strange, and stimulating. Yet, our day-to-day lives often resemble more of a mundane routine than an epic adventure. We get stuck in our task lists and obligations, instead of creating moments of awe, wonder, and excitement. Instead, learn how to SPARK your own curiosity!

Choosing Sufficiency

Choosing Sufficiency

If you are guilty of structuring your days around task completion and the ever-elusive “to do” list, only to feel like there’s never “enough” time in the day to get it all done, then you’re not alone…

When do you choose efficiency over sufficiency? Too often, the busyness of doing overtakes the thoughtfulness of being. Here are three ways you can choose to focus on sufficiency and invite more self-acceptance into your life.

The Courage to Own Your Worth

The Courage to Own Your Worth

When you work for yourself, determining your worth is complex and can often feel rather lonely and isolating. For most, it can feel really uncomfortable to ask for a large amount of money for something you’ve created. Especially when your brand is yourself – like so many coaches, visual artists, freelancers, consultants, and creatives – it almost feels too personal to put a number on your services, like you’re judging yourself before others have a chance to judge you. Learn how to have the courage to OWN your worth!

New Year, New Vision

New Year, New Vision

It was less than a month after the birth of my second baby and I already knew we had to do something.

I needed this space and community as much as these other parents who were vocalizing their desires on social media. So instead of waiting for someone else to create it, we decided to build on this vision and open it ourselves. And that’s how The Makers Place™ was born (I say “born” because it now feels like my third child).

Your Invitation

Your Invitation

Each month, we feature a specific value that we highlight throughout the community for parents and their children through writing, art, workshops, action challenges, and more to help identify personal strengths, values, and goals. This blog is our public space to share about each value we explore as a community. We invite you to join our dialogue to deepen your personal reflection and practice!
